Last week we investigated the difference between functional overreaching, non-functional overreaching and overtraining syndrome (check our previous posts!)

Today we will look into Overtraining Continuum:
“A sustained mismatch between stress and recovery in athletes can result in athletes being unable to tolerate training and possibly lead to overreaching… The overtraining syndrome (OTS) is the final stage of the continuum with documented recovery periods lasting from months to years” (see the picture).

Don’t ignore any stress (social, physiological, or psychological)! The combination of physical and psycho-social stress sources should be in balance with the total amount of recovery. Omegawave measures how you recover giving you the insights based not only on your HRV but also on your brain activity (measuring brain omega-potential!). Contact us if you would like to learn more.
