World Cup 2010
Portland, Oregon, USA, July 14, 2010 – Skill, speed, endurance. These are common denominators among all World Cup finalists. But you can add one more to that list: Omegawave.
Omegawave is an advanced training tool that’s been marketed to world class athletes and their coaches and trainers since 2000. And in this year’s World Cup, the winning team’s roster had more athletes with access to Omegawave technology than any other. Fourteen of Spain’s 23 players (61%) and fully nine of their 11 starters (82%) play professionally for Omegawave clients. Of the other 31 teams in the tournament, the second-place Dutch team had the second highest number of players on their squad – a total of 12 – who compete for Omegawave clients.
Omegawave helps athletes peak at game time, and, over the past month, the power of the technology has been dramatically displayed. At the start of the 2010 World Cup, 224 athletes, representing 30% of the athletes on World Cup teams, played for national teams or professional clubs that use Omegawave to optimize their training programs. As the teams emerged from the Group stage of the competition, that figure rose to nearly 45% of the remaining athletes. And in the Final, that figure rose again to 56.6% of the remaining athletes: 26 out of the 46 players.
Based on more than 20 years of field research, Omegawave uses non-invasive, non-stressful methods to quickly assess and report on the state of an athlete’s vital biological and regulatory systems, including the cardiac system, autonomic balance, central nervous system, and energy producing systems. This information allows coaches and trainers to monitor fatigue, assess how “ready” an athlete is for today’s training session or match, and, in general, track how each athlete is adapting to the stress of training, traveling, media scrutiny, etc. Based on this personalized information, Omegawave can help prevent overreaching and overtraining, reduce injuries and illness, and lead to peak performance.
“I started using Omegawave while I was the team doctor for FC Barcelona’s football team. When I moved over to the club’s basketball team, I took my Omegawave System with me because it’s a tool I knew would be useful in preparing my new team. One of the first things my replacement at the football team did was acquire another Omegawave System.”
Dr. Gil Rodas, Team Physician, F.C. Barcelona
